Academic Interests
My academic interests include medieval philosophy, especially Aquinas, and the role of philosophy within theology. My Ph.D. dissertation concerned Aquinas’ use of metaphysics in his Christology. I have published several scholarly articles on these topics.
In more recent years my work has focussed on the French Catholic philosopher Jacques Maritain. I have been working on a book on his thought for several years now. Related to this, I am interested in the appropriate of Aquinas by contemporary Catholic philosophers particularly in the area of political theory (e.g. Alasdair MacIntyre, John Finnis, etc.).
