Roderick Bryce and the Schola Cantorum of St. Joseph’s Basilica release new album “Into Light”. Music director and professor at Newman Theological College, Roderick Bryce, participated in a short interview by Teresa Jarvis, the Events Coordinator for the Benedict XVI Institute at NTC, who asked a few questions on the new album release.

Dr. Ryan Topping presented a keynote address at an event hosted by Thomas Cardinal Collins of the Archdiocese of Toronto. Dr. Topping’s lecture, “Renewing Catholic Education – Six Signs of Hope” was given before an audience of about 100 invited leaders representing various institutions and ministries from the Toronto area, to help launch a key initiative for the Archdiocese.

Something that struck me during the Holy Father’s visit to Edmonton was his emphasis on the role of grandparents and elders in our lives and how the Indigenous people really do this well in their culture. It was very fitting that the Pope came for the Feast Day of Saints Anne and Joachim: the grandparents of Christ. During his visit, Pope Francis talked about how we are not brought into this world alone, but surrounded by people to help us, advise us, and love us. He emphasized how vital these people are to learning the faith. This is particularly true for grandparents.
